Katerina Morgan: "Equestrian Art, horses as symbol of strength, beauty and vitality."

Katerina Morgan is a virtual US gallery dedicated to classic and contemporary Equestrain Art. The relationship between people and horses is deep, full of love and passion. Horses are always seen as symbols of strength, beauty and vitality. That is why Equestrian Art is one of the most beautiful and popular art styles. Gallery owner Katerina Morgan now works with over 30 artists who create artwork inspired by horses, riders and the aesthetics of equestrianism.

Some of her artists even created commissioned works for royal collections, such as HRH Queen Elizabeth II and Her Husband HRH The Duke Of Edinburgh or even for the Royal Family of Dubai. In personal interview with Alethea Mag she talks about the fascination of equine art and how it became her profession. The clients, who come from all over the world and who, by the way, prefer to have their own horse painted, can choose from a wide variety of styles. Brand new, the gallery owner works with the so-called Diamond Art, with which the horse art can be refined. If you are interested in silk scarves with horse art, the gallerist, who is also an artist, even designs them herself.

Name: Katerina Morgan

Occupation: Galerist and artist

Mission: The gallery owner has found her niche, even the English Royal Family owns works by some of her artists.

How is it that you specialize in equestrian art?

I’ve known the polo community internationally for a long time, and I adore horses because they are graceful, strong, and stunning animals.

Since horses have accompanied humans in warfare, labor, recreation, and travel for many years, equestrian art has a long history with humanity. Amazing equestrian artworks may be found everywhere, from modern art to cave paintings dating back 17,000 years. Numerous painters found inspiration in horses, and now we may enjoy viewing works by Da Vinci, Durer, Botichelli, Stubbs, Sorolla, Magritte, Degas, Manet, Kandinsky, Picasso, Dali, Botero, and others at the largest museums. By the way, we love to share all these fascinating stories about the roots of equestrian art in our blog.

As a Gallery, we aim to support modern equestrian painters from all over the world, whose works are sent to our customers straight from the studios of its creators.

What are the styles of equestrian art?

Every artist has a distinct unique identity and expressive manner. It's incredible to watch the same horse from so many different perspectives. Every style is possible to create, from a traditional portrait to an impressionistic painting, a mosaic, a semi-abstract design, or a vibrant pop art piece.

"The British Royal Family is one of the biggest enthusiasts of equestrian art."

Since the emotional connection between humans and horses is strong anyway, they probably have a closer connection to the artwork.

Indeed. Some of our clients ask for custom artwork featuring their own horses. I find it fascinating to have a painting or sculpture created in honor of one's own cherished animal because it shows a closer connection. This noble tradition comes from aristocratic families who left their favorite horses as a lasting memento for future generations.

The British Royal Family is one of the biggest enthusiasts of equestrian art and has an amazing collection of it. Some of our artists had the honor of creating pieces on their behalf.

Diamond Art enriches the artwork

Could you tell me something about the Diamond Art collaboration?

We began working with Diamond Art in 2022; this amazing patented technology allows to fill a layer of digital image with diamonds. Immagin, how the fine art photograph of your favorite horse can be covered in micro diamonds! This is the evolution of micro diamonds, also known as diamond powder, and it is a natural diamond in very small proportions. The diamond's transparency allows the color to reflect outward, enhancing the surface's depth and brilliance.

They are 100% custom-made; there is nothing similar produced in the world. Even for an audience that has long loved and appreciated luxury, the micro diamond surface concept is a complete novelty. Going from a single stone, usually set as a single jewel, to an expanse of micro diamonds which enliven brilliant surfaces, is something that has never been seen before.

And the digitalization of the art market, has it helped your business as well?

Undoubtedly, the new digital era has greatly aided the expansion of the art industry and enabled interactions between collectors and artists all over the world. Additionally, this format makes it possible to collaborate with the gifted creators of equestrian art globally, which would otherwise be challenging.

You can acquire artwork from any country online while residing anywhere in the world, and DHL will deliver it to your home within a short period of time. We have already shipped artworks from the UK, France, China, and Singapore, Russia, Dubai, the USA, Italy, Colombia, Malaysia, Spain and others.

Where do your customers come from, where do you meet them? Do you attend trade fairs?

Some of the art collectors we work with are people I personally know from the global polo scene. We also collaborate with the press and digital communities closely. Some of our customers find us through social media or google searches - this is a great benefit of global digitalization.
